1. Mobilization and networking through:

  • Common identification of RTD activities;

  • Establishment of joint workgroups for specific RTD activities;

  • Standardization of current methodologies;

  • Establishment and introduction of working protocols;

  • Establishment of common data bases;

2. Screening of the currently used laboratory protocols in Serbia for diagnosis and follow-up of malignant diseases (leukemia, carcinoma of breast, pancreas, thyroid gland, prostate and gastrointestinal tract);

3. List of internationally accepted laboratory diagnostic protocols for leukemia, carcinoma of breast, pancreas, thyroid gland, prostate and gastrointestinal tract;

4. Standardization and validation of the newly introduced laboratory procedures;

5. Determination of reference values of the selected markers for the population of Serbia;

6. Cooperation with EU institutions in order to increase personnel mobility and exchange of knowledge and information;

7. Strenghtening of updated training programs, within the country and at regional level for young and experienced researchers and other profiles. The objectives will be realized through:

  • Technology related training;

  • Visits of experts from EU patner institutions;

  • Training for  young researchers;

8.Increase in awareness of the Laboratory diagnostics practitioners regarding available methodology and recommended protocols;

9. Increase of public awareness regarding laboratory diagnostic procedures for malignant diseases through direct measures;

10. Local and regional networking with health centres and associations dedicated to prevention and management of malignant diseases. These objectives will be realized through:

  • Organization of conference with regional participation;

  • Organization of the conference with local (Serbia) participation;

  • Open-days;

  • Creation of web-site;

  • Increase of public awareness trough dissemination of leaflets;

11. Reinforcement of human potential that can contribute to implementation of new laboratory diagnostic protocols in combating malignant diseases in Serbia;

12. Reinforcement of the material potential through upgrading of equipment and improved compliance with biohazard procedures;
